Background to HPV Vaccination

Safe Hands HPV SpecialistsCervical screening programmes involve women attending their doctor’s clinics regularly for cervical pap smears.

Nearly all (over 99%) cervical cancer is caused certain strains of group of viruses called the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Over 70% of cervical cancers are caused by two strains namely Type 16 and 18. The other 30% are caused by other cancer causing strains that number about 11. The main goal of the Gardasil & Cervarix vaccines is to prevent up to 75% of cervical cancer and 90% of genital warts.

Recommended Schedule:

Each individual should have three (3) vaccine injections at month 0, month 2 and 6 month. Each injection is £150.00, making a total of £450 for the full course.
